Successful and effective mediators demonstrate many different styles based on unique combinations of skills, attributes and behaviours.
Some attributes and behaviours cannot be taught. Some only work because they are an integral part of the personality of a mediator. They may not be successful if adopted by another.
As mediators become more and more experienced there is less and less training available and fewer opportunities for mediators to spend time on review, feedback and developing new ideas.
So how does an experienced mediator stay competent?
One way is to adopt the discipline of regular review through a process which recognises differences and develops a mediator's strengths.
Peer Review is a unique service for experienced mediators.
